October 1st: Pandemic Recovery
October 1st: Pandemic Recovery
This year the IDG Summit returns to the United Nations in person for the Girls Speak Out, for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Approximately two and a half years since the onset of the pandemic, we are now learning how to live with the virus.
Last year, at the Girls Speak Out, we learned how the pandemic exasperated the digital divide for girls, as well as its impact on girls receiving a quality education. UN Women has created an interactive web page to learn more about the ongoing impact of the pandemic on women and girls, sharing information on gender-based violence, conflict, economic and labor concerns, and migration. You can view that interactive site here.
As girls continue to be disproportionately affected by COVID-19, and we move into a new phase of COVID-19 life, how are we striving for a better recovery from the pandemic to help realize #GirlsRightsNow? We want to hear from girls to learn about their experiences!
Join us on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube to hear from girl advocates within the WGG membership about their experiences in recovering from the pandemic!
