Story by Asemahle:
My conclusion and strong opinion is that ALL girls should stand up for their rights and never allow anyone to violate that rights. It was on the 18th of July 2021 when we celebrated our ex-president’s birthday by having a beautiful programme at school. With this good feeling I came home and had my lunch. That day during winter it was one of those hot days and I decided to play outside in the yard under the tree with two of my girlfriends. A boy who is also a relative of this girl called one of my friends to get her shoes. As she did not want to miss out on her turn of the game, we were playing she said that we must wait for her as she will be quick.
THIS HOWEVER TURNED INTO HER BIGGEST NIGHTMARE AND REGRET AS THIS BOY RAPED HER AND IGNORED HER PAINFUL CRIES. She was still bleeding when she ran to my house crying and asking for HELP!!!!!!
My mother phoned the police who immediately arrested him (her cousin who lives with them as he does not have parents.)
Unfortunately, he was released the next day and she had to live in the same house with the person who raped her.
OBVIOUSELY, SHE BLAMED HER PARENTS FOR ALLOWING HIM BACK INTO THE HOUSE AND THEPOLICE WHO RELEASED HIM SO SOON.
She was hurt and damaged in every way,NOwords could describe the pain and shame she felt.We then decided to take action and gathered a few girls and community ladies to question thepolice on why he was released to the victims’ home and also so quick.
The policeweresilent to our rights and forgot that her pain was real and that she was the only onesuffering. They never took action, not even after we took greater action which was burning tyres in the roadnear the police station.
MY MESSAGE IS DEDICATED TO THE WORLD:
LISTEN TO OUR CRIES AND UNITE WITH US,
THE WORLD CAN BE A BETTER PLACE IF WE STAND TOGETHER
