On behalf of Waimea Soroptimists (New Zealand South) we would like to commend you for the work you are doing to ensure Day of the Girl Child is at the forefront of discussion at the United Nations on Friday 11th October. Through education women and girls will be empowered to make change for themselves and their communities bringing positive results and opportunity. Sadly we know that there is a long way to go to ensure all women have equal opportunities. Sadly we know that not all women and girls are treated with respect. Sadly we know that many cultural customs continue to disadvantage women and girls. There is much work to be done. Thank you for all that you are doing and will continue to do with passion and energy. Don’t ever give up. Have an awesome day, we look forward to hearing about the results of your event. Sheryl Waterhouse (Club President)
